The Scottish Blog Round Up

Hello,
Just a quick post to let you know that The Scottish Blog Round Up is up for another week. As ever lots of great stuff for you read.

I was pleased to see my two nominations listed, you can view them here and here. Gives one a warm glow and all that. To nominate for next week's round up send an e-mail to: scottishroundup [at] gmail [dot] com.

Just before I go I'd like to draw your attention to this fine website. Could it be that that Labour's snouts are going to be roundly booted out the Scottish trough come May? Cross everything.

Incidentally does anyone know of a tactical voting website or any plans for one to provide a simple guide to getting Labour out of office in one's constituency? Mind you in my part of the world it'll take more than an election to shift them, perhaps a mass prayer for divine intervention might do the trick.

I don't know of any such sites that show how to tactical vote to SNP's optimum benefit but I've been doing my own research on it actually so I might give this blogging lark a whirl and post my thoughts.

For a start, if SNP helped vote in Ross Finnie in Greenock, I make it they would get an extra regional list MSP.

It's more about unseating Labour than anything else. They've had the run of Scotland for far too long. Quite frankly if nextdoor's cat was standing for election I'd choose them.

I still haven't decided how I'm going to vote in May. I'll need to see who looks 'least worst' over the coming months.

Mind you I am very excited by STV system for the council elections. Tragic I know but I love voting.

No, fair enough, STV is pretty damn exciting. You get to vote almost as many times as there are candidates. Superb stuff. Imagine agonising over who gets your 10th and 11th votes, Robbie the Pict or the SSP (though it's a no brainer for me).

Apologies for stuffing up earlier but I have dragged an 'anyone but labour' sort of blog over at snptacticalvoting.blogspot.com Despite the name, it's not very partisan actually as there are plenty of Lib Dem and Tory guys and girls standing for election that I have a lot of time for.

Though I hate to disappoint you, but I don't see Labour being anything other than the largest party come May 3rd. Unless you have some anti-brainwash pills that would work in the West of Scotland.

I hate to agree with the last paragraph but going on past form I think you're spot on. Still always worth a try.
