I just can't take my eyes off Terry Kelly....

Hello,
Once again I have been forced by circumstances outwith my control to inflict another Terry newsflash on you all. Only the other day Terry made the following 'joke' confession

'christ I'm doing it again. Having been involved in corrupt Labour politics for 40 yrs. I'm already rich, I don't need the money I've stolen enough, so I'm retiring, now crawl back under your stone.'

At least I thought he was joking as you know I always try to think the best of people. Then my attention was drawn to this shocking tale of....oh dear....erm... how can I put this -Labour corruption on Renfrewshire council. Laugh? I very nearly danced. There's even going to be a criminal investigation!

There is of course no evidence at all that our Terry is involved but how unfortunate to make a joke about Labour corruption, then to have this come out. Poor Terry he must be feeling very let down by his colleagues.

Why can't I stop laughing?

Cheerio

I don't think I shall ever frown again!

I'm so excited I've just told Labour Watch about it. Spread the joy.

He's accused you of being falsely angry again. I don't think he realises that you (and all the people who've mentioned this) are just so immensely tickled by the whole thing.

Does he have anything left of his feet by now? They must be full of bulletholes!

Maybe some kind of admission?

Will,
Where does he get this 'false anger' thing from? How in the name of God would he know how I feel? He's never met me? He know's bugger all about me? I might just have a really short temper for all he knows. In any case I am as you say tickled by the whole thing.

RFS,
Reading that post was almost as hilarious as first hearing about the fraud. I've just been over to his blog and note that he doesn't seem to have said that he isn't involved. I think I have yet another question for our Terry.

Perhaps, as was the case with his "register of interests" form, he simply sees all those blank lines on his expenses form, and "feels that he ought to write something down".

Tom,
That's genius I may have to use that one on Terry. Do you know he's now calling me a 'nasty piece of work'?

Clairwil, looks like you've got him where it hurts, he's starting to feel persecuted.

Awww! Poor Tel......

Someone clearly taught him the phrase 'synthetic anger' in a moment of madness. How ironic that he's the master of it. His little tirades about the SNP being homophobic are the best example of synthetic anger that I've seen and as you can guess are my own bone of contention with the man. It's fascinating that when the press accuses Dennis Goldie - his party's candidate in Falkirk West - of homophobia, his first response is to disbelieve the reports (which he never does when it's anyone else) and then retreat to what he thinks is safer ground by bleating on about Brian Adam.

I've left him a comment containing these grievances but I don't expect it to see the light of day as 1) it's Friday afternoon and he doesn't appear to go near his blog at the weekend, and 2) he's avoided answering this point on seven different occasions when I've put it to him so he'll probably bin it. Then he'll lie about binning it.

Good thing I've saved it!

Oh, he's such an irritating man. OK, everyone is entitled to their political views, it's not his views themselves that get my goat, but his refusal (or inability) to let others question them. And his name-calling and insulting attitude, while at the same time pouring scorn on anyone who calls him a twonk. As if he can talk, he's been found in breach of the code of conduct on the same point, more than once, by the standards board.
I can have a conversation with a reasonably well-mannered socialist (and I should know because my brother is one - he voted for the Respect party at the 05 election, and buys the Morning Star, whereas I vote Tory or UKIP more recently. You couldn't imagine two brothers so far apart in political persuasions, yet we do talk, and manage to stay polite to each other, though it's a bit of a task at times!). But Kelly...I have so far declined to put a comment on his blog because I keep thinking "what would be the point?".

Have you seen this yet?

Thanks, yes, I've posted on it a couple of hours ago, in fact, re the expenses investigation. I found an article which seems to put Tezza in the clear, but at least it does name all the councillors involved in this scam.

I've actually enjoyed my few exchanges with him. A master of the non sequiter, it's been nothing but a pleasure to deal with someone operating on a level of absurdity I can only dream of attaining.

It's only a matter of time before he gets his very own "Ask Terry Kelly" phrase generator, loaded with all his best stock responses to anything posted on his blog by people who don't agree with him.
