Hello,
You will recall that I posted recently about famous and soon to be legendary blogger David Duff, taking over the internet. You may also remember that I mentioned there were a number of fraudulent Duffs doing the rounds. Well it seems that one of the impostors has struck again! Someone has started a blog by the name of 'I am David Duff' . The real David Duff has his suspicions as to who may behind this hilarious hoax, but is sadly remaining uncharacteristically tight lipped on the subject of their identity.
Anyway to read the real David Duff's reaction to this extraordinary turn of events click here and to view the hoaxers handiwork click here.

His second effort is better, and funnier, than his first, but I still reckon he hasn't quite got the essential me. All he's doing is parroting some of my expressions without quite capturing my style. However, I'm sure he'll get better and I'm beginning to realise just how difficult it is to parody. I might try it myself but most of the bloggers I might wish to impersonate are beyond parody already!
I'm afraid the above commenter is my imposter striking again! I still maintain that my fan over at 'I Am David Duff' has not an ounce of the wit and subtlety required to properly satirise the Duff *ouevre*, nor, it seems, the good manners to keep it to his own blog!
Which of the two comments above come from the real me?
On second thoughts, who cares?
No, I'm Sparticus!
Sorry, couldn't resist............
This is all very,very confusing.
David Duff is the JT Leroy of Blogdom. You may ask: is he a man, a woman, a group? Is that important? David Duff is the dissolution of all notions of identity and authorial ownership of text. David Duff is the crucible in which the 'self' is destroyed and then reborn as a multiplicity
Now what you put it like that it all becomes so clear.
Ah! Like the Luther Blisset thing in Italy? Interesting.
I think the clue that indicates the presence of my alter ego is the fact that 'my' name is in black instead of the usual blue.
I know I shouldn't ask but who is J. T. Leroy?
David Duff, above, says 'the clue that indicates the presence of my alter ego is the fact that 'my' name is in black instead of the usual blue'.
Aha! But your name in this comment is also black, while mine is blue. So therefore I am the real me.
But if you are the imposter, then I should not trust you regarding the significance of the colour of my name, so perhaps then it is blue which indicates the charlatan among us! That is, me!
That said, if you are the real Duff, then why do you suggest that a black name signifies a fake Duff, all the while having a black name yourself?
Could it be that we are both fake? Or, indeed, both real? The plot thickens!
This is fun, perhaps there is no david duff, but an analogy to improve our lives
we all must search for the david duff inside all of us
also claire nice blog, just found it from bag of bears, if I forget to link to it, remind me
also if the conversation is always this fun, will be back
I feel quite giddy. Am starting to doubt own existence. Is the internet real or is all this a dream taking place in David Duff's head?
The theft of an identity is no laughing matter. As a result I have decided, very much against my nature, to correspond here incognito for the time being. Surely it's the only way left for me to prove I am the real David Duff. Those poltroons may have my name but they will not have my soul.
Clairwil, I can assure you that the internet is all too real. I can also state for the record that my dreams are very pleasant but never seem to last long enough.
I'm Slim Shady, yes I'm the real Shady
All you other Slim Shadys are just imitating
So won't the real Slim Shady please stand up,
please stand up, please stand up?
