Colombo!

Hello,
Peter Falk (Columbo) has a website! Oh I adore Colombo! It has everything you could possibly want from a cop show- a crime committed and solved in a single episode. Better still it doesn't bore you to tears with forensics and office tension. If I see one more woman wearing specs and frowning at a corpse I will not be responsible for my actions.

Plus Columbo also backs up my belief that one should pretend to be a bit dim. Every week it's the same the murderer thinks Columbo just a scuffy fool and gets careless but really Columbo has a mind like a steel trap and is just waiting to pounce. More Colombo here.

Elsewhere two of my fellow bloggers seem to be feeling a bit unloved. Do drop in and make reassuring noises at them, here and here.

Cheers

Columbo's got a myspace!! Ok, it's someone pretending to be Columbo, but it's still quite a nice idea....

I too adore Columbo. Peter Falk is a God. Also, the guest stars are a master stroke. Perfect lazy afternoon viewing.

Small point. How many of Columbo's victims would have managed to get off the hook in the courtroom due to convoluted and often circumstantial evidence.....?

My dad loves columbo. Did you know that Peter Falk only had one eye. Still despite that nothing got past him.

Look, I'm not sucking up, but I would be more impressed by meeting Columbo than I would be meeting the Queen, or Darth Vader.

"Oh, and one more thing..." I always say to the ladies in the canteen at work, causing them to flick hot fat at me with a spoon.

I love that show, especially the one with Patrick McGoohan as the bad guy. And that one where the wee woman out of Every Which Way But Loose was the killer.

Now that I come to think of it, Donald Pleasance was the bad guy in one episode, that was brilliant too.

Cheers, that's made my day.

Favourite baddies have to be Johnny Cash, Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner. Who else turned up in it?

As an aside, I'd say that The Rockford Files was just about as good, but maybe lacked the charm of the crumpled raincoat.

I would faint if I met Columbo.

it's impossible not to love columbo. my favourite bit is when he goes to a soup kitchen to do a bit of sleuthing. the woman on duty takes one look at his raggedy old raincoat and unkempt hair and assumes he's another down-and-out. she says 'oh you poor man' and drags him to a table and starts plying him with hot soup, as he tries in vain to explain ...

and have you seen peter falk in the wim wenders' film 'wings of desire'? perfect casting. wim chose him because he loves columbo too.
