Despite the efforts of the SNP and the Greens on Glasgow City Council the loathsome Labour group have succeeded in getting their filthy, corrupt mitts on Paddy's Market. This doesn't automatically mean the end but it does mean it's more vital than ever to get onto your councillor and tell them you support the traders -you can get their details here.
Make no mistake this decision by the council has nothing to do with crime and everything to do with the phoney yuppiefication that the city neither wants nor needs. You might not like Paddy's but enough people do to support numerous viable businesses. If they win this it will be The Barras next and then we'll be the only city on the face of the earth without markets but one of many with faceless boring high streets and naff shopping centres.
The Labour council has been the worst enemy this city ever had. They are nothing but unimaginative, small minded, dishonest, bloated thieves and bullies. It's high time the people reminded them who is in charge.
