Hello,
I heard a rather amusing tale today about former police chief Richard Munro. If you click the link it will take you to a BBC report about his alleged role in a miscarriage of justice which obviously isn't at all funny. The report mentions in passing that Mr Munro was suspended after having allegedly having sex with a lady of the night.
However I believe there is a bit more to it than a boring old sex scandal. Apparently he rolled up at a police station in a terrible panic having been mugged by a couple of chaps who stole his warrant card. Happily the two culprits were caught and sent to prison to await trial.
It was after the alleged thieves had been on remand for six weeks that a very, very strange thing happened. A rather public spirited lady of the night rolled up at her local police station with Richard Munro's warrant card claiming he had left it behind after enjoying her services. I do hope she got a reward.
Obviously the two chaps that spent six weeks locked up for a crime that didn't happen might not find this as funny as I do. Still may it comfort them and all of you to learn that Mr Munro has been well punished for his crime. The poor soul felt compelled to resign from his job just a week before his disciplinary hearing and received a paltry £100, 000 and pension of £26,000 p/a for the rest of his life.
I would suggest that new offences of wasting public money and betraying public trust were created but if Mr Munro is any indication of the type of scumbag that would be investigating it, what would be the bloody point?
Cheerio

I'm distraught for the man. How is he supposed to live off such a paltry sum?
Every person in Glasgow should be sending him a tenner, just to tide him over....

Actually I was hoping to take the 'Save Richard Munro' campaign international.
