I do try, really I do

Hello,
As I'm sure you'll all be aware the Archbishop of Canterbury has caused a bit of a to do by saying that the introduction of sharia law in parts of Britain looks unavoidable. Having resigned myself long ago to the impossibility of having anything approaching a sensible conversation on Islam with 99.9% of the folk I come into contact with I decided to try and get down to their level. What a terrible mistake! You'd think I tried goose the individual concerned. All I said when the subject came up up was that it was about time someone did something about crime and that I was pleased to see that the archbishop was willing to take a tough stance.

I do realise that I was expected to tut, shake my head and look worried. Instead I was bombarded with questions about being forced to wear a burkha to which I merely responded that I thought it a splendid idea and that whilst I would not enjoy being stoned for adultery I would understand.

Obviously I take my infidel pastimes very seriously and don't really believe that but I'm afraid I can't get beyond a mild chuckle and roll of the eyes at the row. Not being an Anglican, a Christian or a friend of the bish his comments on anything don't interest me much. I suppose if he were to recommend a really good porno, I'd have a look out of curiosity but other than I'm indifferent.

Cheerio

Are some more "profound changes" going to occur that will sweep Terry out of sight?
