A New Blog Gimmick

Hello,
This evening I am adding two exciting new features to my blog. The first is 'Clairwil consults the I Ching'. If you want a bit of the I Ching wisdom leave your question below in the comments and I'll get back to you with an answer.

The second is my recipe of the week which is as follows:

Tamatar Cut (serves 4)

300ml tomato juice
1 tablespoon of cornflour
1 tablespoon of coriander powder
1 teaspoon turmeric
4 tbsp oil
4 green chillies seeded and sliced
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp fenugreek seeds
a few curry leaves (not essential but good if you can lay hands on them)
a handful of fresh coriander chopped
Juice of 1 lime or 1 lemon

Mix the tomato juice and cornflour until smooth . Add salt, coriander powder and turmeric and simmer in a heavy pan. Heat the oil in a frying pan and once hot add the chillies, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds and curry leaves. When aromatic pour the oil and spices over the tomato curry and cover immediately. Just before serving garnish with the coriander leaves and lemon/lime juice.

This sauce goes well with pulses, tofu, paneer, or veg. Though I expect you could use chicken if you were so inclined. For best results make the night before then leave overnight in the fridge before reheating, garnishing and serving. Be warned it is a fairly thin sauce, so eat with plenty of bread to mop it up. Failing that just serve it as a soup.

I'll give that a try for my next chicken concoction. Cheers!

Looks tasty, but I'll have to include chicken too.

I'm told it's very nice if you marinate the chicken in the sauce overnight.

If Mr I. Ching could see his way to providing me with the solution to any of the following, I'll make sure there's something in it for both of you, if you knowworimean!:
* Hot tip for the 3:30 at Newmarket next Sunday? - Actually, stuff that, the winning numbers in Saturday's lottery will do just fine.
* OK, deep and meaningful question: We start out with all these dreams and ambitions and such when we're young, but as life progresses, we seem to give up on them and just accept lives of mundanity. And we secretly hate ourselves a little bit for becoming so cynical. Surely there's more to it than that, surely there's a way of getting back to that youthful idealism? Or were those dreams all an illusion, all for nothing? Tell me!
* Bacon and eggs. -No, its not a question as such, just tell him "bacon and eggs" and see what he says. Could be fun.

Be well, clairwil.

Neil
I have consulted the I-ching

Re Lottery

Always put the needs of the ones you love before your own personal interests. In this way you will find true fulfilment of your own wishes.

Re Deep and meaningful question

Life has prepared many requirements of you. Would you like to be it's slave? Or would you prefer to settle the requirements yourself? If so withdraw into yourself and try and solve the problem from within. The root cause of a problem will not relate to it's outer appearance.

Re Bacon and Eggs

You do not need to spend your life looking for happiness -everything is already there for you. Do not hesitate. Grasp it -but with the right judgement.

Hope that helps
