The World Of Blogging.

Hello,

Distressing news from the blogging world has reached my wee ears via the fine Cape To Rio. I am sad to report a particular favourite of mine The Anti-Barney has left us and dear, old Binty McShae has disappeared. I should stress, in case any relatives of theirs are reading this that they have only disappeared from the webternet. I hope and believe they're still on the go in the real world.

On the plus side a very old favourite of mine Jamie4U seems to have reappeared but sadly gone again.

It also occurs to me that I have never, ever been tagged with a meme. This is a statement not an invitation, however Illman has been tagged and I've been at the blogging much longer than he has. It's just like my second primary school all over again. The other children would play games and exclude me for being new/thinking I was better than them. Mercifully the 'Clairwil Germs' game has not been resurrected- yet.

Cheerio

This is my first meme. Help!!. Don't worry clairwil, i'll tag you just as soon as I get my 'seven things' posted. Unless you have no desire to be tagged, in which case I won't..............

I wouldn't mind doing that meme as it's only seven things.

Please, 'Clairwil', don't do it!

But first, let's not call it a 'meme', such a silly Dawkinsian name, instead let's stick to 'questionnaire' which is much better. Secondly, it is the last refuge of bloggers with nothing to say. Just ask yourself when faced with answering those stupid questions, who cares?

Don't worry I've never been "tagged" either. Although seeing some of the questions that get asked I would probably rather that stayed the case!

It's just like picking teams for football at school all over again. Always last.

(sigh)

memerories :-)

I think I know what it is. Sunshine. I was out last Saturday and Sunday and it was great, there were real people of all ages dying of thirst and drinking like buggery and talking face to face and everything. It was as if the war was over and nobody had told me. You can forget that sometimes, when your peering at the world through the typed word darkly.

Memes are so bad they're good. You can't do them half heartedly even when you try.

I think I've only ever had one once.

David, what on earth do you mean by 'Dawkinsian'?

'Steve55', I am happy to be corrected but I think it was that prize turnip, Richard Dawkins, who invented the word 'meme' and applied a totally silly proposition to it.

It was me what tagged the Ill Man. If it's any consolation, it took me about 4 times as long to decide who to tag then it took to write the post. So I randomly (using a complicated procedure) chose 3 people who'd recently commented.

I tend to agree with David on this. The 'meme' isn't something I particularly want to use on a regular basis. That said, since it was Billy that tagged me, I thought it would be rude not to.

Well I've now been tagged and answered the questions and whilst I do feel a bit less left out, I'm afraid I am still at a loss as to what the point of the bloody things are.

I think Dr Marroon is right about the sunshine. Time to get out more.
