But what happens to them when they cease to be kittens and become cats? I mean, they eat whales, you know! And one of the other cat cafes has a motto "Nippie Like Kitty"! Need I say more?
I've been there. It was a fantastic place to visit as a tourist. Very expensive though, easily on a par with costs here.
Not sure about living there. The culture is really very alien and quite xenophobic. I'd recommend these sites to start to get a sense for that, and as some pointers as to where else to look.

If you ever do manage to go, Kyoto is a must. And a trip to Hiroshima should be compulsory for all.

Whales! Good God! To think I was stunned that time our Sophie came home with a whole squirrel between her jaws.
No I haven't I'm afraid, though it has been a lifetime ambition.
My interest in Japan is fuelled by my interest in martial arts and Japanese history.
I'm trying to persuade girlfriend to go with me as she speaks Japanese very well having lived there for four years.
The wee scamp remains reluctant though............
Maybe if you tell her about 'rentacat' she'll change her mind.
True, she likes felines too.
