Poor Amy Winehouse

Hello,
I was rather amused to hear a drunk on the bus ranting about 'that junkie bastard that sings Valerie'. Can one sink any lower than being sneered at by unemployed drunks on the 41 bus of an afternoon?

Poor Amy Winehouse -may it comfort her to know some chirpy teenage girls sprang to her defence, upsetting the drunk who is apparently not a man used to being contradicted.

Elsewhere, learn how to make a ghost.

Cheerio

Amy Winehouse...drug addled skank that should be summarily executed.

A bad influence on our young and the worst scum of the earth.

Christ! Don't hold back Shotgun. I think the mess she's got her self into is pretty pathetic and more likely to serve as a warning against drug abuse than anything else. Besides as long as she's not hanging about outside my work trying to dip my bag I vote we let her live.

So, Cliff Richard then....... ?

Of course she's a bad influence. It's her job to be a bad influence and I'd be disappointed if she was anything else.

Her music sucks though.

'Her music sucks though.'

True maybe Shotgun is right after all.

Nah, we can't execute shit rock stars, there'd be nothing to kick against otherwise.

Tell you what, she's got 2nd dibs on 'The Fuck Off Song' if Britney doesn't make it out of rehab.

Sorry, but I don't agree. This self serving drug addled skank is in the news every day flaunting her self inflicted drug addictions, and on Youtube regularly shooting up or whatever, then we have cretins like Paul Weller saying she is a great role model, and then they give her various multiple awards for her album, which is good but not earth shattering, and she has done nothing since.

She is now a sympathy whore and is role model for all the wrong reasons. You want to make her a positive role model? Through the botch in jail and show her for the fucking cretin she is.

It's a bit like George Michael. He is a fucking drug addled poof that specialises in sucking middle aged strangers cock in public toilets...what a role model eh? Tell you what, while he was on bail for driving under the influence of drugs and on the front-pages for sucking dick in public toilets...let's make him the first artist to have a major concert at the New Wembley and also have him on Desert island discs...because he is a great man.

Both of these fuckers would serve a better purpose in jail as a deterrent.

We need positive role models, not cunts like these.

Shit! Better go and burn my Johnny Cash records.........

Quite right, Cash was another drug soaked cunt and a disgrace to humanity..but he kept his pretty quiet and it wasn't across every newspaper incessantly, day in and day out.

Well I'm not sure that anyone should be taking role models from popular culture unless they're aiming to emulate their particular skill rather than their lifestyle.

I'd far rather people took responsibility for their own actions, thought for themselves than fuck up their lives and blame someone they saw in a magazine. Amy Winehouse can afford to fund her habit, if she wants to make a cunt of herself in the papers because of it that's her own affair -no-one is forced to watch.

I've no sympathy for twats without a penny to their name who decide to become drug addicts and expect the rest of us to pick up the tab. Giving them the excuse of poor role models is a cop out. They are responsible for their own lives.

I own records by people I think are total arseholes but I'm able to separate them from their music. If other people are too thick to do the same, then I hope they learn from the consequences of their actions.

Personal responsibility will take you far further than any role model. Heroes let you down. All idols have feet of clay. I don't know where this notion that musicians have an obligation to be role models came from but I wish it would cease. You might as well worship the court jester.

I'm not sure that George Micheal is doing the first concert at the new Wembley because of his leisure activities. I suspect it has more to do with good management, business and paying public who want to see him. Though I have to say he's wasted on me.

Er, I'm rather partial to Johnny Cash, I was being facetious. To be honest, we could be here all night listing musicians who take drugs, it makes no difference. Did their music kick arse or did it suck? Those are the only questions you need to ask, to which the answer is entirely subjective.

Role models ought to be closer to home than someone paid to perform on a stage.

Either that or dead where we have the benefit of their whole lives to pick over.

Agreed.

I can't help thinking that the world is a far better place for having Winehouse and Johnny Cash - and even bloody George Michael, much as I'm not a fan - in it than the kind of reactionary c***s who think people should be thrown in jail for their choice of recreational smoke.
