Hello,
I see that a survey conducted by the Herald reveals that one third of young people wish to leave Scotland. I can't say I blame them, there are times when I wish I'd never laid eyes on the place. For example stories like this leave me gnashing my teeth with frustration. It's so outrageous, it's almost funny, in fact if it happened to any other country in the world I'd laugh like a drain. I am of course referring to the behaviour of the allegedly 'politically neutral' civil service in suppressing information supporting the cause for Scottish independence. If it happened to any other country the population would have the heads of civil servants on poles or at least stop voting for the hateful scum that stitched them up.
I realise that I am in a minority with my support for Scottish independence but surely the population should have been left to make a decision based on the facts, rather the lies concocted by Labour, their pals the Tories and the fraud addicted civil servants of Whitehall. I am also aware that this took place about thirty years ago, but we could have been spared Thatcher, Blair, three Iraq wars, the Poll Tax, mass unemployment, fucking Trident, if only the meddling bastards had behaved honestly. And if the civil service helped the government lie back in 70's, how do we know they're not doing it now?
I have always been led to understand by unionists, who by the way, invariably hate the English yet curiously want to be governed from England, that independence would be a calamity. The litany of horrors includes being unable to afford an army, not having a monarchy, poverty and probably a biblical plague. OK I made the last one up but I remember debating the issue with a friends mother who said 'I know you're probably right, but they'd take the Queen off us' the poor woman looked hurt when I said that was the main attraction in the idea for me. I should have known I was wasting my time when I spotted a picture of the Queen Mother grinning off a Bridgeton Ladies Orange Association calender in the kitchen.
In any case if Scotland is such an economic basket case, why should it continue to be subsidised by the English taxpayer? Has anyone asked the English if they're happy to spend money on Scotland, rather than attend to their own problems?
Right, I'm off to emigrate to a country that has a modicum of self-respect.

Allrightie. So what are the rules for Mischief of Magpies then? Topics are anything goes are they? Or they shouldn't be what?
it would certainly be interesting to see how brenda and her numerous over-privileged sprogs would react to being turfed out of balmoral, holyrood etc.. they'd probably have to stay with billy connolly on their holidays.
Ha, ha! That would be hilarious. For some reason I imagine them in a caravan somewhere on Billy's vast estate.
